Since we're going floor by floor instead of trade by trade, looks like we could almost move in if we had to. After much indecision...I LOVE the colors! Much lighter than the rest of the house will be but it works with all the teeny spaces and angles and light of the 3rd floor. Now, if I could just figure out if we can actually fit beds in any of these rooms...

I've been trying to remember what I have in storage. It's been 3 years so my memory is a little fuzzy. If I were an organized person, I would have some sort of excel spreadsheet by room, color-coded etc etc...but I'm not an organized person so alas, I probably have boxes labeled "Cool Stuff" or "Misc." Ugh. I AM looking forward to getting some of the artwork out,including a painting I did for Steve on Father's Day a few years back. Hard to believe the boys were ever that little! It will probably go in Steve's study. More about "His Study" in future posts.
I've been feeling a bit guilty that the boys' rooms are so unequal so have been looking for ways to add some extra oomph to the smaller one. Check these murals out!

It's the first place you see...the foyer. We have a little 4x5 entryway that needs tile (suitable for snow and salt), light, a table for mail, maybe a mirror. Maybe it's because I grew up in an old Spanish style house in Miami but I'm all about these cement tiles:

Seems you can get them in any pattern and any color combination (I'm thinking black/grey/white)...just on the fence about whether it could work in New England. Thoughts?
Still wondering where/how to start the story. Do I really go back to the beginning? Nah...I'll start with today which involved meeting my new favorite guy, Steve the contractor (not Steve, the husband, though he's a favorite guy too) and discussing lighting placement, venting locations, basement flooring options and more. I'll be sure to post on lighting soon as the deadline is fast approaching to have my decisions made.

OK, enough for now. Even I'M getting disoriented! I'm looking forward to the afters!
I thought it was only fitting to start this whole blogging experience off with a little house history. Once we finally bought the place, I started googling and digging around and found lots of cool stuff about the house and its original owners. I'll be posting more about all of that under the category "House History. In the meantime, who doesn't love a little Before and After action?...well I guess its really "Before and During?
